INFO: The excursions on offer are changed and varied by us depending on the weather.

Lake Garda has always attracted visitors from near and far to its shores, and not just in the warmer months of the year. With a length of 51.6 km and a width of 17.2 km, Lake Garda, or Lago di Garda in Italian, is the largest lake in Italy. In some places it reaches down to a depth of 346 metres. The most famous towns on Lake Garda are Salò, Limone, Torbole, Sirmione, Malcesine, Lazise and Bardolino. Not only do Mediterranean plants such as cypresses, oleanders, cedars, olive trees and palms thrive here, but so too do oranges and lemons.

From Kastelruth, the journey continues to Bolzano and via the motorway to Verona, where you will spend around 2.5 hours. The day's programme includes a visit to the historic centre and the famous arena. A detour to the balcony of Romeo and Juliet is also worthwhile! The journey then continues to Lake Garda in the town of Garda. Now we need a coffee break. After an hour in Garda, the journey continues along the eastern Gardesana via Torri, Malcesine and Torbole, each with a short stop. The route then continues through the Arco Valley, past Lake Toblino and via Trento back onto the motorway and back to Kastelruth.

La Serenissima, "the most illustrious" - Venice rightly bears this nickname. The capital of the Veneto region is not only an absolute tourist hotspot, but also culturally very important. The historic centre of Venice is located on several large islands in a lagoon. Until well into the 16th century, Venice was an important trading city and one of the largest transhipment centres for luxury goods, spices, salt and wheat. Wide canals run through the entire city - and there are correspondingly many bridges. Transport takes place exclusively on the water - whether by vaporetto, water taxi or the famous gondolas that adorn the cityscape and are particularly popular with tourists from all over the world.

Firstly, the excursion takes us via the provincial capital of Bolzano to Verona, where we stop for a short coffee break. We then travel on to the picturesque lagoon city of Venice. We finally reach St Mark's Square by boat (vaporetto). Let yourself be enchanted by this unique Italian city, which welcomes numerous visitors from all over the world every year. The most beautiful palazzi from times long past, impressive churches such as the Basilica San Marco, romantic alleyways and bridges such as the Bridge of Sighs or the Rialto Bridge await you. Spend 6 hours in Venice and enjoy a little Italian dolce vita!

The Dolomites have become famous all over the world. Parts of this famous mountain range have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009. The highest mountain in the Dolomites is the Marmolada at 3342 metres. But the Catinaccio, the Schlern, the Three Peaks, the Sassolungo and the Sella are also popular photo moments and places that you have to see once in your life. What better occasion than a holiday in Kastelruth in South Tyrol? Take part in our grand tour of the Dolomites and enjoy the impressive views!

From Kastelruth, the journey continues through Val Gardena, over the Sella Pass at 2240 metres, the Pordoi Pass at 2239 metres and the Falzarego Pass at 2117 metres. We spend about 15 minutes on each pass and enjoy the fabulous views. We then continue to Cortina d'Ampezzo, where we take a lunch break and explore the town on a leisurely stroll. In the afternoon, we continue over the Three Crosses Pass to Lake Misurina. The view of the famous Three Peaks mountain range from here is simply breathtaking. We then continue through the Höhlenstein Valley to Bruneck, where we enjoy a coffee break before finally returning to the Hotel Rosslaufhof in Kastelruth.

The Seiser Alm

The largest contiguous and probably the most beautiful high alpine pasture in Europe. At 57 km², the Seiser Alm is the size of 8,000 football pitches. The high plateau below the Schlern mountain massif lies between 1680 and 2350 metres above sea level in the South Tyrolean Dolomites and is mainly characterised by the mountain peaks of the Schlern, Sassolungo and Sassopiatto.

The Seiser Alm is a popular excursion destination for young and old at any time of year: while in summer hikers, bikers, joggers and Nordic walkers romp around on the many wide-ranging paths and meadows, in winter the white splendour attracts skiers, cross-country skiers, snowshoe and winter hikers.

Experience the unique natural landscape up close. The flora of the Seiser Alm is extremely diverse: more than 790 different plant species thrive here in meadows, forests and along idyllic footpaths.

You should see this:

  • The 2563-metre-high Schlern - the king of the Dolomites
  • The summits of the Sassopiatto & Sassolungo
  • The Puflatsch & the witches' benches - a circular hike is recommended
  • Saltria - part of the Seiser Alm Group
  • The new Church of St. Francis of Assisi - an architectural work of art
